Description
The e-TP609E NCF is a mains power distribution block from Furutech, designed to centralise the power supply to the various components of an audio system. Rather than a simple multi-outlet extension lead, this is a distribution accessory conceived specifically for audio use, in which each connection is treated against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI).
Its design is based on several mechanical and electrical design choices. The axial locking system secures each receptacle by means of a clamping screw: the sockets no longer shift over time and the contact surfaces remain optimal, a decisive point on a unit permanently carrying mains current. The clamping torque relies on a 3M material chosen for its insulating properties. Inside, a GC-303 absorbent plate completes the interference treatment. The chassis, CNC-machined from aluminium, is decoupled from its supporting surface by four spikes supplied with the unit, which complete the isolation from vibration.
This type of unit is intended for existing hi-fi or home cinema installations, where several sensitive devices, digital sources, preamplifier, amplification, share the same mains line. It will suit the listener who has already taken care over cables and supports and wishes to treat power distribution as a component in its own right, particularly in a domestic environment subject to significant electrical interference.

What to check before buying used
Check each receptacle: the axial locking relies on clamping screws that must still hold firmly, and a socket that moves within its housing indicates a loosened clamp or worn contact. Then inspect the condition of the internal contacts, which can blacken or become deformed after years of repeated plugging, as well as the power cord and its passage through the chassis. Finally, check that the four decoupling spikes are all present and not bent, and that the machined aluminium chassis shows no impact damage that has deformed a socket housing.
