Description
The Furutech FI-28(G) is a power connector intended for making or repairing mains cables for audio and hi-fi installations. It is a technical component to be assembled onto a lead, rather than a complete ready-to-use cable.
This connector incorporates Furutech's own "Earth (Ground) Jumper" system. The principle is based on an observation made by the brand's engineers: the flow of current generates magnetic fields, including at the screws that provide the mechanical fixing of the connector. These small stray magnetic fields can interfere with the main flow of current running through the conductor and connectors. The Earth Ground Jumper system aims to limit this phenomenon by connecting the fixing screws to an isolated terminal, separate from the rest of the circuit, within the connector itself.

What to check before buying used
With this type of connector, the sensitive point remains the quality of the crimping or soldering carried out by the previous assembler: insufficient tightening of the conductor's fixing screws can cause poor contact or even localised heating. Check the integrity of the insulating body and outer shielding, which can crack when an old cable is disassembled, as well as the condition of the isolated terminal of the Earth Ground Jumper system, whose proper function depends on careful wiring.
