Description

The FI-50 NCF is an IEC connector designed for making audiophile mains cables. It is fitted on the appliance side of a home-made power cable, replacing the standard connectors supplied with commercial cords.

The internal conductors are made of pure rhodium-plated copper, a combination chosen by Furutech for current conduction. The connector body combines nylon and glass fibre loaded with ceramic nano particles, a choice designed to absorb vibrations and mechanical resonance. The NCF version adds antistatic nano crystal particles to this ceramic-carbon body, an active material that generates negative ions to neutralise static charges by converting them into heat within the infrared spectrum. The connector also incorporates a jumper system allowing the ground to be disconnected, as well as a multi-layer structure in non-magnetic stainless steel and carbon fibre. It accepts cables with an external diameter of up to 6.6 mm, for a voltage of 250 V and a current of 10 A.

This connector is aimed at enthusiasts of home-made mains cables wishing to give careful attention to the power supply of their audio equipment, particularly those seeking specific treatment of vibrations and static electricity at the connector level.
