Furutech FT-SWS NCF (R)

The FT-SWS NCF (R) is a mains wall socket designed to replace a standard socket in a demanding audio or video installation. It supplies power to equipment while aiming to limit disturbances transmitted via the mains, an often decisive starting point in a hi-fi chain.

Its main conductor is made of pure α (Alpha) copper plated with rhodium to a thickness of 0.5 mm, a treatment intended to improve the conduction of the electrical signal. The socket incorporates the Nano Crystal² (NCF) formula, a material combining crystalline powder, nanoscale ceramic and carbon powder: it generates negative ions believed to reduce static electricity and converts thermal energy into far-infrared, while also providing mechanical and electrical damping known as the "piezo effect". The 1.0 mm thick support is reinforced with a zinc/steel plate, and the front plate is made from Zn-Mg alloy moulded in carbon fibre, for improved mechanical strength. A specially designed pressure plate increases the contact surface with the Alpha conductors. The socket accepts wires of 2.8 mm or 5.5 mm² (10 AWG max.) and supports a load of 16A at 250V A.C.
