Furutech NCF Clear Line

The Furutech NCF Clear Line is a passive mains optimiser designed to improve the quality of the electrical supply to an audio system. It is not connected in series on the listening circuit but plugged into a free mains outlet, either on the wall or on an available power strip, which simplifies installation and makes it compatible with most existing setups.

Its operation relies on two distinct technologies. The passive α-OCC Air Coil coils are intended to limit resonances radiated by the mains conductors. The NCF technology, standing for Nano Crystal² Formula, combines a crystalline material that generates negative ions, capable of converting part of the heat into infrared, with nano ceramic and carbon providing mechanical damping. The metal parts of the unit are rhodium-plated and treated using the Alpha process, which combines cryogenic treatment and demagnetisation.

With dimensions of 102.3 × 39.5 mm and a weight of 99.6 g, the NCF Clear Line remains compact and can easily be fitted close to the system, on a free outlet on the same electrical line. Furutech recommends a 24-hour running-in period before fully appreciating its effect on the sound.

This type of accessory is aimed at audiophiles already equipped with a good-quality hi-fi or home cinema system, attentive to the finer details of reproduction and wishing to act on the cleanliness of the electrical supply without modifying their existing setup. It complements a chain where amplification and speakers are already well mastered, and where mains noise can be a perceptible limiting factor.
