Description
The NCF Clear Line is a passive mains optimiser designed by Furutech, intended to be plugged into a vacant outlet on a power distributor or wall socket, without any intervention in the system's wiring. It is not a traditional filter inserted in series on the power supply, but a device that acts in parallel, close to the audio or video installation.
The NCF Clear Line is based on Nano Crystal² technology, developed by Furutech and exclusive to its products. This formula combines a special crystalline material with nanometre-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder. The crystal used has two properties: it generates negative ions that neutralise static electricity, and it converts thermal energy into far-infrared radiation. Combined with the ceramic particles and carbon powder, this assembly forms a material that provides both electrical and mechanical damping.
This type of optimiser is aimed at users of hi-fi or home cinema systems wishing to improve the quality of their mains supply without modifying their existing installation. Furutech recommends plugging it into the same electrical line as the system, ideally into an adjacent socket, for optimal effect.

As this is a passive accessory with no conventional wear-prone mechanical components, the points to check when buying used relate mainly to the condition of the mains plug and casing: no play in the pins, no signs of overheating or cracks on the body of the product.
