Description
The Furutech NCF Power Vault is a mains power distributor designed to power several components of a hi-fi or home cinema system from a single IEC inlet. It is placed upstream of the audio equipment to distribute current to eight Schuko outlets, whilst offering a common earthing point via a dedicated terminal on the chassis.
The casing is CNC-machined from a special-quality aluminium alloy with a fine anodised surface, a construction designed to limit electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference around the connections. The metal parts undergo Furutech's proprietary cryogenic and demagnetising treatment (α/Alpha process), applied to the FI-09 NCF IEC inlet, the eight FI-E30 NCF Schuko outlets and the internal wiring. This wiring, named Alpha-12, uses a stranded α-OCC copper conductor, insulated with UL-compliant flexible PVC, with special alloy solder joints; the IEC inlet and Schuko outlets are made of pure rhodium-plated copper. The NCF Power Vault is also fitted with eight NCF auxiliary supports, designed to dampen vibrations at the connectors and connected cables.
This type of power conditioner is aimed at hi-fi or home cinema installations comprising several components to be powered from a single mains point, amplifier, digital source, turntable, preamplifier, and at users wishing to centralise this power supply in a single unit fitted with high-end connectivity and a common earthing point.

What to check before buying used
Check that all eight FI-E30 Schuko outlets hold plugs firmly, with no play or unreliable contact caused by repeated use of the connections. Examine the FI-09 IEC inlet and its Alpha-12 internal wiring: look for signs of overheating, oxidation or cracked PVC insulation. Check the condition of the CNC chassis's anodised finish and the fixing of the earth terminal, and ensure all eight NCF damping supports are present and not hardened.
