Description
The Powerflux NCF is a mains cable from Furutech, intended to connect audio equipment to the electrical mains with sound reproduction quality in mind. It belongs to a range that the manufacturer positions at the top of its power cable line-up.
Its distinctive feature lies in its Piezo Ceramic FI-50 line connectors, whose body combines two active materials: microscopic ceramic particles and carbon powder. This body is wrapped in successive layers of carbon fibre and Acetal copolymer, all stiffened by non-magnetic stainless steel rings, a construction designed to provide mechanical damping of stray vibrations that can affect the electrical signal. The contact section of the connectors is made of rhodium-plated copper, a surface treatment valued for its long-term stability.

What to check before buying used

Also check that the carbon/Acetal housing on the connectors is not cracked, as this composite can mark if knocked or subjected to repeated pulling on the plug. Finally, inspect the polyethylene sheath along its full length: any pinching or nicking compromises the insulation and the low capacitance this cable is designed to provide.
