Furutech The Empire-E

The Furutech Empire-E is an audiophile mains cable designed to supply a hi-fi component under the best possible electrical conditions. Fitted with two poles plus an earth, it terminates in a Furutech FI-11 (G) IEC connector and offers a rated capacity of 10 A at 250 V AC, compatible with the vast majority of amplifiers, players and audio sources on the market.

This cable is built around Furutech's PC-Triple C conductor technology, here in the form of 0.32 mm Alpha wires assembled into 45-strand braids per conductor. An OFC copper braid shield of 0.12 mm protects the connection against electromagnetic interference, while a patented earthing system, the Floating Field Damper, helps manage grounding. The whole assembly is wrapped in a flexible, audio-grade PVC sheath, RoHS compliant, chosen to provide insulation against mechanical vibrations that could affect the signal.

The construction stands out through several distinct layers: a coloured PVC insulator per conductor (brown, light blue, green with yellow stripes) approximately 5 mm in diameter, a black inner sheath, then a dark green outer sheath approximately 16 mm in diameter, all covered with a braided nylon fibre sleeve. The cable measures 1.5 m.

This type of mains cable is aimed at hi-fi enthusiasts wishing to refine the power supply of their system, particularly on sources, preamplifiers or amplifiers sensitive to variations in mains quality.
