The F502S is a 2.5-way floorstanding speaker from Fyne Audio, designed to fill large listening volumes without sacrificing sonic coherence. It is built around a 200 mm IsoFlare coaxial driver combining a bass/midrange woofer with a 25 mm magnesium dome tweeter positioned at its centre, complemented by a second 200 mm driver dedicated to bass frequencies.
The IsoFlare point source principle involves emitting treble and midrange frequencies from a single point, which limits time misalignment between drivers and promotes a stable sound image, even away from the central listening axis. What to check before buying used
The presence control potentiometer should be moved through its full range to detect any crackling or dead spots, a sign of oxidation on the tracks. The connection terminals at the rear also warrant a visual check, as any looseness or trace of corrosion could affect contact with the wiring.
