GigaWatt LC-2 EVO

The GigaWatt LC-2 EVO is a mains power cable designed for high-end Hi-Fi audio and video systems. It is also fitted as standard on GigaWatt's power strips and power conditioners.

The cable is built around seven solid-core conductors, with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², made from 99.997% pure OFHC copper and annealed to homogenise their structure and improve conductance. The wires are arranged in a specific weave geometry, designed to maintain a regular current flow and limit the occurrence of interference at the output. The conductor insulation uses a low dielectric constant PK90AT28 material, while the outer sheath in GA 70AT03 aims to dampen the cable's mechanical vibrations. The whole assembly is wrapped in a static shield made of laminated aluminium foil, combined with a copper drain wire, which covers the entire surface of the cable to contain external and internal interference and channel it to earth.

The plugs are rhodium-plated, with an extended contact surface, and their pins are demagnetised. The conductors are connected without soldering, using bolted connections, for a mechanically stable link over time.

This cable is intended for high-end Hi-Fi and video installations where the mains supply is considered a fully-fledged link in the chain, particularly when connecting a sensitive component to a GigaWatt power strip or conditioner.
