Description
The GigaWatt LS-1 EVO+ is a mains power cable designed for audiophile systems, belonging to the brand's reference LS series. It aims to minimise technical compromises in the power supply of hi-fi equipment as far as possible, relying on components developed specifically for this cable rather than standard commercial parts.
The conductors of the LS-1 EVO+ adopt a 7 x 1.5 mm² type structure, with each wire itself made up of 7 strands twisted with a tight pitch. This choice of multiple strands, replacing a single solid wire, aims to increase the conductor's active surface area while improving the cable's flexibility. The copper used is a 5N pure silver-plated oxygen-free copper, manufactured according to GigaWatt's own specifications.
All the conductors are wrapped in a sealed copper screen, designed to protect the electrical signal against electromagnetic noise (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). A multilayer material also surrounds the wires to limit vibrations induced by the electromagnetic field generated around the conductors. The outer protection is provided by a black textile sheath made of polyolefin fibres, complemented by an antistatic mesh preventing the build-up of electrostatic charges.
A distinctive feature of this model is a lossless passive filter based on nanocrystalline alloys, integrated at a specific location on the cable, providing additional protection against parasitic noise and output oscillations.

The LS-1 EVO+ is entirely hand-assembled, with each unit requiring several hours of specialised work under strict control at every stage of manufacture. When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the textile sheath and antistatic mesh, which may show signs of wear or discolouration over time, as well as the integrity of the connectors at both ends of the cable, which are particularly subject to strain from repeated plugging and unplugging.
