GigaWatt PC-2 EVO+
GigaWatt mains conditioner with three independent cells and DCB direct current blocker, designed to refine the power supply of a hi-fi system.
Description
The PC-2 EVO+ is a mains conditioner from the GigaWatt brand, designed to treat the electrical supply of a hi-fi system before it reaches the equipment. It is placed upstream of the system, between the wall socket and the various audio components, with the role of filtering out disturbances present on the mains network.
This model stands out for its architecture with three independent cells, each dedicated to a category of equipment: digital sources, analogue components and high-power devices. This separation prevents disturbances generated by one type of equipment from contaminating the power supply of the others, a common phenomenon when several devices share the same mains input. The PC-2 EVO+ also incorporates a direct current blocker, known as DCB, whose function is to reduce mains noise at the level of the power transformers of the connected equipment.
This type of conditioner is aimed at users who already have a quality hi-fi system, on which electrical background noise or micro-disturbances from the network can limit sound reproduction. It is suited to installations combining several sources (digital and analogue) and one or more power amplifiers, a situation in which differentiated power management makes full sense.

What to check before buying used
Test each socket on the strip under real load: an oxidised or loose internal contact results in imperfect earthing or a section that cuts out. The DCB module, which is continuously in use, should be checked for the absence of noise or abnormal heating at its components. Also inspect the condition of the original mains cable and the IEC connector, as well as the printed markings on the three cells, sometimes worn away by overly aggressive cleaning.
