Description
The GigaWatt PC-3 Evo+ is a mains conditioner designed to filter and distribute the mains power supply of a hi-fi system. It is placed upstream of audio equipment to provide it with more stable and less noisy current than that of a conventional wall socket.
This unit is built around separate output transformers, including a 1000 VA model, combined with a pair of high-current outputs capable of supplying up to 3500 VA. This architecture allows certain outputs to be dedicated to more power-hungry equipment, such as amplifiers, while isolating the circuits from one another. All outputs are fitted with reversible Schuko sockets with cryogenically treated silver contacts, a connector choice geared towards contact quality and electrical signal conduction.
The PC-3 Evo+ also incorporates triple electromagnetic shielding, designed to minimise the level of parasitic noise transmitted to connected downstream equipment.
This conditioner is aimed at high-end hi-fi or home cinema systems comprising several sources and amplifiers sensitive to mains disturbances. It is particularly suited to configurations where the aim is to isolate different elements of the chain on separate outputs, thanks to its separate transformers.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the Schuko sockets and their silver contacts, which are prone to wear or oxidation after several years of use. Checking that both high-current outputs function correctly is also recommended, as is a visual check of the shielding's integrity and the absence of any overheating marks on the transformers.
