Description
The GigaWatt LC-1 EVO is a mains power cable designed for Hi-Fi audio-video systems. It is also fitted as standard on the brand's mains conditioners and power blocks, reflecting its role as a baseline reference within a dedicated high-fidelity electrical distribution chain.
The cable is built around five conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², made from 99.997% pure OFHC C10100 copper, subjected to annealing that homogenises their structure and improves conductance. This copper is arranged according to a specific weave geometry, designed to maintain a constant current flow and limit the occurrence of interference at the output. The cable's intrinsic capacitance, resulting from this geometry and the properties of the dielectric used, helps filter and dampen a wide range of electrical disturbances.
Conductor insulation uses a flexible material with a low dielectric constant (PK90AT28), while the outer sheath in flexible GA 70AT03 material limits vibration. A wear-resistant light grey plastic braid protects the whole assembly. The static shielding, made from laminated aluminium foil with a copper drain wire, covers 100% of the cable's surface: it protects against external interference and channels stray currents to earth.
The plugs feature a large connection surface promoting stable current flow, with demagnetised contacts at both ends. The conductors are connected without soldering, via bolted connections, for enhanced mechanical and electrical reliability over time.
This cable is intended for users of Hi-Fi or home cinema installations wishing to provide a clean power supply to an amplifier, a DAC, a player or any other audio-video device, particularly where the surrounding mains supply is subject to interference. Its maximum continuous load of 16 A and compatibility with a line voltage of 110 to 240 VAC / 50-60 Hz allow it to cover standard domestic use as well as certain international configurations.

What to check before buying used
On a cable of this type, the sensitive points are at the ends: check that the mains and IEC plugs show no play or signs of heating at the pins, which would indicate insufficient tightening or repeated overload. The sheath and protective braid should remain supple and intact along their full length, with no cuts or crushing that could compromise the shielding. A continuity and insulation check is recommended before first use, particularly if the cable has been stored tightly coiled.
