Description
The PowerSync PLUS is an audiophile mains cable from GigaWatt, designed to supply hi-fi components with electrical current that is as clean as possible. It follows in the line initiated by the LC-3EVO, a new generation of power cables from the brand focused on reducing electrical disturbances.
The three conductors, each with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², are made from OFHC C10100 copper of 5N purity, annealed to achieve a homogeneous structure favourable to conductivity. Each conductor is made up of 12 strands of 0.514 mm diameter, insulated with a polyethylene dielectric. A static shield of plastic-laminated aluminium foil covers 100% of the cable's surface, complemented by a drain wire beneath the shield: this construction is intended to limit external EMI and RFI noise as well as the propagation of internal interference. A layer of flexible insulation then surrounds the conductors, also serving to dampen vibrations. The whole assembly is protected by a three-layer outer sheath, combining two layers of nylon mesh and one layer of dense fibreglass braid. The conductors are mechanically connected to the plug terminals, without soldering.
This cable is aimed at hi-fi enthusiasts wishing to optimise the electrical supply to their sources, amplifiers or other components sensitive to mains disturbances. It is suited to installations where the user seeks to limit the influence of electromagnetic interference on the audio signal.
The PowerSync PLUS is available in several lengths (1 m, 1.5 m, with the option of adding 50 cm) and several plug types depending on requirements:

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the braided sheath at the flex points near the plugs, where the nylon mesh and fibreglass braid undergo the most mechanical stress and can show marks. Check the firmness of the IEC and mains connectors, whose mechanical crimping may loosen slightly with repeated plugging cycles. Finally, make sure the shielding has not been bent or crushed at a sharp angle, which would compromise its ability to limit EMI and RFI interference.
