Gold Note PSU-10 EVO

The PSU-10 EVO is a dedicated external power supply, designed to replace the internal power supply of Gold Note DACs in the DS-10 range (DS-10, DS-10 PLUS, DS-10 EVO, DS-10 EVO LINE). Housed in a separate metal chassis, it powers the converter's electronics away from the disturbances generated by the mains.

Its power supply stage is built around 4 transformers, three of which are entirely dedicated to power supply and one to the inductive filter. Dual Choke Hybrid technology combines an inductive filter with dual inductance, separately controlling the positive and negative high-current voltages: this filtering limits the interference and noise carried by the mains before they reach the DAC's analogue stage. Low-noise voltage regulators complete this filtering to stabilise the power supplied to the electronics. The maximum variation is stated at 0.05%, noise reduction at over 80 dB and response time at under 2.5 µsec, values that reflect the power supply's ability to react quickly to current demands while limiting residual electrical noise.

This type of separate power supply is aimed at owners of a Gold Note DS-10 DAC wishing to improve the dynamics and resolution of their system, by isolating the conversion electronics from mains disturbances.
