Grado GS2000e

The GS2000e is an open-back headphone from the Grado brand, fitted with dynamic transducers. It follows the tradition of the American brand, known for its handcrafted headphones and its specific use of wood applied to acoustics.

Its fused housings combine two types of wood, mahogany and maple, hand-shaped according to craftsmanship close to that of luthiers. This combination of woods exploits the principle of resonance: the maple contributes to the transmission of sound energy, while the mahogany contributes to the openness of the sound and the reproduction of its harmonic structure. The headphones feature specially designed 50 mm dynamic transducers, an ultra high-purity 12-conductor copper cable, as well as ear cushions designed to complement this set.

In terms of measured characteristics, the GS2000e offers a frequency response of 4 to 51,000 Hz, a sensitivity of 98 dB SPL at 1 mW and an impedance of 32 ohms. This relatively low impedance allows use with a variety of sources, without necessarily requiring a powerful headphone amplifier.

These open-back headphones are aimed at listeners attentive to sound reproduction, for seated and quiet listening, typically at a desk or in a living room, in a quiet environment since the open format does not isolate from outside noise and lets sound escape to the outside.
