Hegel H400

The Hegel H400 is an integrated network amplifier that combines a power stage and streaming functions within a single unit. It allows a pair of speakers to be driven directly without additional electronics, while also enabling music streaming over the network from the main streaming services.

Its dual mono construction separates the circuits of the two channels to limit interference between them, for more stable stereo reproduction. It delivers 2x250 W into 8 ohms, sufficient power to drive demanding speakers. The frequency response extends from 5 Hz to 180 kHz, the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 100 dB and crosstalk remains below -100 dB, all indicators of a clean signal and pronounced channel separation. Distortion is stated at less than 0.005% at 50 W into 8 ohms and 1 kHz, ensuring detailed sound even at moderate listening levels.

On the network connectivity side, the H400 supports AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Google Cast and UPnP, allowing it to be controlled directly from these services without going through a separate source. The Hegel Control app rounds out the package by managing volume, input selection, internet radio, podcasts and playback from a media server.
