Description
The Aingel 3203 is a 2-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker from Highland Audio. It is built on a D'Appolito architecture, where the tweeter is flanked by two woofer-midranges, a layout intended to deliver even performance and a three-dimensional soundstage.
The upper range is handled by a 25 mm titanium dome tweeter with vented neodymium magnet, while the midrange and bass frequencies are covered by two 100 mm drivers with ceramic-metal cones. The crossover frequency is set at 2.5 kHz, and the stated frequency response extends from 40 Hz to 20 kHz. With a sensitivity of 85 dB (1 W / 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 6 Ω, this speaker works well with amplifiers delivering between 10 and 80 W. Connectivity consists of gold-plated terminals compatible with bi-wiring and bi-amping.

What to check before buying used
The suspensions of the ceramic-metal woofer-midranges deserve close inspection: look for cracking, sagging or tearing of the surround, signs of ageing that affect bass reproduction. Also check the tweeter's titanium dome, which is prone to dents and deformation. Inspect the cabinet (veneer, corners, bass-reflex ports) to rule out any swelling caused by humidity, and test the gold-plated terminals as well as the bi-wiring setup for reliable contact.
