The Oran 4305 is a 2-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker from Highland Audio. It combines a tweeter and two woofer-midrange drivers within a single cabinet, aiming for precise sound reproduction across the entire audible spectrum.
The 25 mm titanium dome tweeter delivers detailed treble, while the two 127 mm ceramic-metal cone woofer-midranges handle the bass and midrange with firmness. What to check before buying used
The suspensions of the ceramic-metal woofer-midranges deserve close inspection: look for cracking, sagging or tearing around the surround, signs of ageing that affect bass performance. Also check the titanium dome tweeter, which is prone to dents and micro-cracks in the event of impact. The cabinet and veneer should be inspected on the corners and top of the enclosure, the areas most exposed to handling knocks, and checking the seal of the bass-reflex port is recommended to ensure no leakage interferes with the bass.
