Description
The HumminGuru HG01 is an ultrasonic cleaning machine dedicated to vinyl record maintenance. It combines an ultrasonic bath with an integrated drying system to restore a clean surface to recordings, without prolonged manual intervention.
Cleaning relies on two ultrasonic transducers placed on either side of the record, operating at a frequency of 40 kHz. This frequency generates micro-bubbles in the liquid bath, which lift dirt and residue embedded in the grooves without damaging the record. Drying is then carried out by forced air, directly within the unit.
The machine offers automatic cleaning and drying programmes, with cycles of 7 or 10 minutes depending on the setting chosen. The tank has a capacity of 350 mL, and the noise level during operation is between 60 and 70 dB, a point worth considering for use in a living room.
This type of device is aimed at vinyl enthusiasts keen to preserve their records over time, whether recent collections or older pressings requiring more thorough cleaning than simple brushing. Its compact size and light weight allow for easy placement on a worktop or dedicated unit.

What to check before buying used
The tank and drying compartment should be free of limescale or residue from dried cleaning fluid, a sign of neglected maintenance by the previous owner. Check that both ultrasonic transducers work simultaneously and that the noise during operation remains within the normal range, as reduced effectiveness or unusual noise may indicate a worn transducer. Also ensure that the forced-air drying system starts correctly on both cycle durations offered.
