Description
The HumminGuru Nova is a machine dedicated to vinyl record maintenance, combining ultrasonic cleaning with forced-air drying at room temperature. It succeeds the HG01 model, offering a revised interface and direct support for 7, 10 and 12 inch formats, without the need for adapters.
The unit operates at an ultrasonic frequency of 40 kHz, with frequency sweeping designed to distribute cavitation energy evenly throughout the liquid bath. In practical terms, this limits poorly treated areas on the record surface and aims for consistent cleaning from one edge of the groove to the other. Drying is then carried out by forced air, without heat, avoiding any risk of warping linked to temperature.
Six buttons control four modes: Auto, Wash, Drain and Dry. In Auto or Wash mode, the user chooses between a quick cycle, a deep cycle and an intensive cycle, the latter designed for the dirtiest records. The Auto mode also offers complete 7 or 10 minute cycles, combining both washing and drying.
With a 350 ml tank and a noise level stated at between 60 and 70 dB, the Nova is aimed at vinyl enthusiasts wishing to regularly maintain their collection, whether for old records requiring thorough dusting or second-hand purchases needing a clean before their first play.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the tank and the air/water filters supplied with the unit, as wear or clogging reduces the effectiveness of drying and bath filtration. The proper operation of the ultrasonic frequency sweep should be checked, as faulty cavitation results in uneven cleaning of the groove. Also test the seal of the 350 ml tank and the correct fit of 7, 10 and 12 inch formats on the built-in support.
