Description
The Nota 260X is a two-way bookshelf speaker from Indiana Line, designed to reproduce bass, midrange and treble with a carefully sought balance. Its compact format suits it to installation in a small or medium space, alongside a stereo amplifier.
The bass-reflex loading, combined with a 166 mm woofer and a 26 mm dome tweeter, allows it to cover a stated frequency range of 40 to 22000 Hz. The crossover operates at 2600 Hz, which determines the frequency at which the woofer hands over to the tweeter for treble reproduction. With a sensitivity of 92 dB (2.83 V / 1 m), the speaker delivers a decent sound level without requiring an oversized amplifier.

What to check before buying used
The suspension of the woofer (166 mm) deserves close inspection: hardened, cracked or detached foam impairs bass performance and calls for reconditioning. Also check the tweeter dome, which is prone to dents and micro-perforations from impact or careless handling. Finally, inspect the cabinet (veneer, corners, bass-reflex port) for any swelling caused by damp, as well as the connection terminals at the rear.
