Description
The GAIA II Neo belongs to the family of mechanical decoupling accessories: it is not a decorative foot or a simple shim, but an isolator that screws in place of the spikes or feet fitted at the factory under a speaker. Its function is to mechanically separate the cabinet from the surface it rests on, so that the vibrations emitted by the speaker do not spread to the floor and do not find a return path there.
This model is sized for the most common loads in domestic hi-fi: floorstanding speakers and subwoofers placed on the floor whose mass does not exceed 55 kg. The design is directional, meaning it must be oriented in line with the drivers during fitting: positioned in this way, the isolator resists lateral movement and oscillation of the cabinet, and keeps the speaker aligned towards the listening area over time.
Adjustment is made via a collar located at the base, which allows up to 8.5 mm of height to be gained or lost without altering the axial alignment of the assembly. This travel is modest but sufficient to correct a slightly uneven floor or to set four feet perfectly level under a heavy cabinet. The upper part comes into contact with the underside of the speaker, where a built-in O-ring compresses to ensure a firm, play-free connection.
Three thread types are offered, M8-1.25, M6-1.0 and ¼"-20, covering most of the threaded inserts used by speaker manufacturers. Before purchasing, the first check is therefore to identify the thread pitch of the inserts under the cabinet and to ensure that the added height of 50 mm remains compatible with the desired listening position, particularly when the tweeters are already positioned high.
These isolators are suited to installations where the speaker rests on a wooden floor, a floating floor or any support likely to vibrate, situations in which decoupling is most justified. They will appeal to listeners attentive to the clarity of sound layers and the stability of the stereo image, rather than those seeking a dramatic transformation of the bass.

What to check before buying used
The adjustment collar at the base must turn freely over its full 8.5 mm range: check that it is not seized or blocked by oxidation deposits before purchasing. Also examine the condition of the M8, M6 and ¼"-20 threads, which can become distorted or worn if the isolator has been screwed and unscrewed carelessly across several speakers. Noticeable play between the internal decoupling elements may indicate a previous impact and could compromise the effectiveness of the vibration isolation.
