Description
The JBL 4369 is a 2-way studio monitor floorstanding speaker, designed for precise sound reproduction in demanding listening environments. It combines a large-diameter woofer and a compression driver dedicated to mid-high frequencies, in a bass-reflex cabinet with front-firing ports.
The bass is handled by a 15-inch (380 mm) woofer with a cast aluminium chassis, using Differential Drive technology with two 3-inch voice coils and a neodymium motor structure. This dual-coil arrangement delivers bass and midrange frequencies with good control over cone movement. For the mid-highs and highs, a 75 mm D2830B compression driver with dual diaphragm and dual voice coil, paired with a Sonoglass HDI waveguide, takes over from 800 Hz. The crossover uses MultiCap components. Frequency response is stated as 28 Hz to 25 kHz (-6 dB), with a sensitivity of 93 dB (2.83 V at 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. The recommended maximum amplifier power is 350 watts RMS.

What to check before buying used
The 15-inch Differential Drive woofer should be listened to carefully: a sagging cone, hardened suspension or coil-rubbing noise indicate a tired unit or one that has been overloaded. Also check for scratches or impact damage on the Sonoglass HDI waveguide of the D2830B compression driver, as well as the condition of the gold-plated five-way binding posts, which can sometimes be oxidised or loose on units that have seen a lot of use. The bulky, heavy cabinet warrants a check of the corners and veneer, which are prone to damage during house moves.
