Description
The JBL MA510 is a 5.2-channel audio video amplifier designed to equip a home cinema installation. It handles both speaker amplification and video switching, with support for 8K video on its HDMI inputs.
The unit is built around five Class D amplification channels, a technology known for its low heat output. Rated power reaches 60 W RMS into 8 ohms and 100 W RMS into 4 ohms per channel (measured at 1 kHz, two channels driven, 0.5% THD maximum), which allows it to power speakers of typical sensitivity without a separate power amplifier. A 24-bit / 192 kHz DAC is built in, and the unit is compatible with Dolby and DTS formats as well as an automatic EZ Set EQ calibration to adjust the sound to the listening room.
On the connectivity side, the MA510 offers 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output with eARC, as well as 2 RCA inputs, 1 optical input, 1 coaxial input and 2 subwoofer outputs. It also allows wireless streaming of audio content via Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast and network streaming.

What to check before buying used
On this AV receiver, check that the five Class D amplification channels remain silent at power-on and produce no hiss or hum at low volume. Test each HDMI input with a 4K/8K source to rule out any compatibility or eARC recognition issues on the TV output, and check that the automatic EZ Set EQ calibration and the Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast wireless connections all work correctly.
