Description
The Spinner BT is a turntable from JBL, designed to combine traditional record listening with today's Bluetooth uses. It allows playback of 33 and 45 rpm vinyl records while offering the possibility of pairing directly with wireless speakers or headphones, without going through a complete wired system.
Drive is via belt, a system recognised for limiting the transmission of motor vibrations to the platter. The turntable incorporates a switchable phono preamplifier: the RCA outputs can thus be used as a line output (to an amplifier already fitted with a phono input or to an active speaker) or as a raw phono output, depending on the user's setup. The cartridge fitted as standard is an Audio-Technica AT3600L, a moving magnet (MM) model. The tonearm, in anodised aluminium, is described as a thick piece, ensuring rigidity, and features adjustable antiskating to balance the stylus pressure on the groove. On the wireless connectivity side, the Bluetooth transmitter is aptX HD compatible, a codec intended to limit quality losses compared with standard Bluetooth. The stated signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 65 dB. The chassis is made of MDF covered in a textured vinyl, with a plastic front panel, while the platter is made of cast aluminium, available in orange or anodised gold finish depending on the range's visuals. The RCA and power cables are detachable.
This turntable is aimed at a user who wants to listen to their vinyl records without necessarily multiplying wired devices: owners of Bluetooth speakers or headphones, fans of a simplified listening system in the lounge or bedroom, or collectors wanting to rediscover their record collection without reinvesting in a separate phono amplifier thanks to the built-in preamp.

What to check before buying used
The Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge fitted as standard wears with playing hours: a worn stylus damages the grooves and degrades sound quality, so it is best to check its condition or plan for its replacement. The drive belt may also have stretched or hardened over time, causing speed variations. It is also worth testing the Bluetooth pairing and the phono preamplifier switch between line output and phono output, as well as the antiskating adjustment on the tonearm.
