JBL Summit PUMORI

The JBL Summit Pumori is a 3-way floorstanding speaker in a Bass-Reflex configuration, positioned at the top of the Summit range. It is aimed at high-end stereo or home cinema systems seeking precise sound reproduction and particularly careful construction.

The top of the spectrum is handled by a patented 38 mm JBL D2815K compression driver with dual diaphragm and dual motor, paired with a large-format Sonoglass® High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn. This type of dual-diaphragm driver aims for greater definition and a more precise sound image in the treble. The midrange-bass is handled by a 200 mm driver and the bass by a 250 mm woofer, both with moulded chassis and fitted with a triple-layer carbon-cellulose hybrid composite diaphragm (HC4), a sandwich construction combining carbon fibres, wood pulp and closed-cell foam cores, designed to offer rigidity and low distortion under high power.

Signal distribution between the drivers is managed by a MultiCap™ crossover, compatible with both single-wiring and bi-amplification/bi-wiring. This crossover replaces traditional large capacitors with a greater number of low-capacitance capacitors, which reduces electrostatic resistance and mechanical energy losses, for a cleaner signal flow to the drivers and improved dynamics.

The cabinet benefits from an internal structure with curved, reinforced and damped walls, intended to limit standing waves. Two finishes are available: gloss black lacquer with Summit Platinum accents, or gloss ebony wood veneer with Summit Gold accents. The speaker rests on custom-designed JBL | IsoAcoustics® isolation feet, which absorb vibrations from the drivers and decouple the cabinet from the floor, with the aim of achieving more precise bass and a wider soundstage.

This model is aimed at a high-end system, in a dedicated listening room, where reproduction quality and build care take precedence over size or budget. Bi-amplified or bi-wired configurations can make use of the MultiCap™ crossover's connectivity.
