What to check before buying used
The D.A.R.O. system and its calibrated microphone must be present and functional: without them, automatic room optimisation is inoperative. Check that all front panel controls work correctly (low-pass filter, variable phase, polarity, E.L.F. Trim), as the potentiometers can become crackly with age. Test each input, RCA as well as XLR, and the chaining output to a second subwoofer. A subwoofer of this power and weight should also be examined for any signs of impact damage to the cabinet or sagging of the driver's suspension.
