Description
The Fathom V2 F113 is a powered subwoofer from JL Audio, designed to deliver powerful and precise low-frequency reproduction in demanding listening rooms. It pairs a 13.5-inch driver with a built-in switching amplifier, forming a self-contained system capable of producing an output level typically associated with larger subwoofers.
Its stated power of 2500 watts RMS drives a driver designed for substantial excursion, allowing for high bass sound pressure without the system showing signs of compression. On this powered subwoofer, checks should start with the amplifier module on the rear panel: RCA/XLR connections, heatsinks and ventilation should show no signs of overheating, and the adjustment potentiometers (low-pass filter, phase, e.l.f. trim) should show no play.
