At the heart of these projectors is the D-ILA component, a key factor in the quality of the images produced. This generation of device continues its evolution: the 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA matrix, now in its third generation, benefits from better control of liquid crystal alignment as well as increased pixel flatness, which brings the native contrast ratio to 1.5 times that of the previous generation (Gen2). Manufacturing processes have also been refined, resulting in superior screen uniformity and image quality.

JVC's proprietary 8K/e-shiftX technology combines two elements: the optical "e-shift" shifting, which doubles resolution by moving each pixel by 0.5 pixel in four directions (up, down, left, right), and the 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA matrix mentioned above. This combination has now reached its second generation and incorporates a new 8K scaling engine that significantly enhances sharpness and level of detail, regardless of the source, including native 8K (8,192 x 4,320 pixels).

The Frame Adapt HDR function has also moved to its second generation. Using a proprietary algorithm, it analyses the peak brightness of each scene or frame of HDR10 content in real time and applies tone mapping suited to video projection. The tone-mapping algorithm has been entirely rebuilt to deliver more detailed HDR images, and the tone curve selection algorithm has also been reworked to produce brighter HDR images with richer colours and an expanded dynamic range.

In terms of connectivity, these models support a wide range of input signals, up to full 8K60p at 48 Gbit/s. LSI circuits based on the latest technologies allow four times the volume of information to be processed instantly between the input and the D-ILA matrix, ensuring correct display of 8K signals and therefore stable, high-quality 8K images in all circumstances. The 4K120p input, combined with low-latency mode, also improves responsiveness to fast commands, an advantage when displaying high-frame-rate gaming content on a large screen.
