Description
The Kanto SX series stands are floor supports designed to hold a pair of bookshelf speakers, raising them to listening height while isolating them from the floor. The model is available in three heights: SX22 for 56 cm, SX26 for 66 cm and SX30 for 81 cm, allowing the listening position to be adapted to the room configuration and speaker height.
The structure is made of steel, with a fillable base plate: a spacious, separate column allows filling bags with a substrate of the user's choice, in order to increase the mass and stability of the assembly. The levelling system is accessible from the top of the base plate and is used with the included bubble level, making adjustment easier without having to lift the stand. A dedicated channel also allows speaker cables to be concealed.
The top plate rotates 90° and is interchangeable, with two sizes available depending on the model: 133 x 165 mm or 165 x 235 mm, to suit different speaker sizes. A ¼ inch - 20 screw insert is provided for mounting. Decoupling spikes and rubber absorbers are included, as well as discs for hard floors fitted with silicone pads, to protect wooden flooring. Adhesive foam pads for the top plate are available as an option for additional damping.
Each stand supports a maximum weight of 18 kg, which covers the vast majority of bookshelf speakers on the market, including some fairly heavy compact models. The stand dimensions (24.1 x 28.5 x 66 cm) give an idea of the floor space required in the listening room.
This series is aimed at bookshelf speaker owners looking for a stable, decoupled support, as a complement to a hi-fi system or home cinema setup, in a room where aesthetics and cable management matter as much as acoustic performance.

What to check before buying used
On these fillable stands, check that the column has not been filled with an unsuitable substrate (damp sand, corrosive material) that could have attacked the steel from the inside, and inspect the underside of the base plate for signs of rust or oxidation. Test the levelling system accessible from the top: the wheel or screw may be jammed by an old filling that has spilled. Also check that the interchangeable top plate and its ¼ inch - 20 threaded insert are original and not warped, and that the decoupling spikes and rubber absorbers are present, as these are often lost during a house move.
