Description
The KEF Kube 10 MIE is a sealed-enclosure subwoofer, designed to reinforce the bass of a hi-fi or home cinema system. It features a 25 cm driver paired with 300 W RMS amplification, capable of reproducing frequencies down to 24 Hz.
The sealed enclosure design adopted by this subwoofer favours accurate reproduction of harmonics and control of driver movement, even at high volume. The driver's suspension offers substantial excursion, allowing high acoustic pressure to be generated in the room, with a maximum SPL of 111 dB. The frequency response extends from 24 Hz to 140 Hz.

What to check before buying used
On this type of sealed-enclosure subwoofer, the suspension of the 25 cm driver deserves careful checking: foam that has hardened or split with age degrades deep bass and can generate unwanted noise at high volume. Also check that the built-in amplification and its controls (phase, crossover, EQ profiles) work properly, as the potentiometers or buttons can become imprecise with use. An inspection of the cabinet is also advisable, particularly the corners and the rear panel around the connections, which are often subject to stress during transport.
