Description
The LS60 Wireless is a pair of active floorstanding speakers from KEF, integrating amplification, DAC and wireless connectivity directly into each speaker. It allows a complete stereo system to be built without a separate amplifier or source, combining drivers, power electronics and signal management in a single unit per channel.
Each speaker houses internal amplification split across several channels: 500 W in Class D for the woofers, 100 W in Class D for the midrange and 100 W in Class AB for the tweeter, with a maximum output level of 111 dB. The 12th generation Uni-Q technology places the tweeter and midrange on the same axis so that sound converges towards a single point, while the Meta-material Absorption Technology (MAT) filter absorbs 99% of the unwanted sound energy emitted from the rear of the driver, reducing distortion. Frequency response extends from 26 Hz to 36 kHz (+/- 6 dB), and connectivity accepts network streams up to 384 kHz / 24 bit, as well as optical, coaxial and HDMI inputs up to 192 kHz / 24 bit.
This model is aimed at listeners wanting a compact hi-fi setup without a rack of electronics, capable of accommodating both networked digital sources and wired devices such as a turntable, CD player or games console. The HDMI eARC output and dedicated subwoofer outputs also allow integration with a television or an additional subwoofer.

What to check before buying used
On this type of all-in-one active speaker, the electronics deserve particular attention: systematically test all inputs (network, optical, coaxial, HDMI) as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to rule out any fault in the card or wireless module. Also check for any unwanted noise, distortion or imbalance between the two speakers at high volume, which could indicate a tired amplification stage. The controls and connection to the control app should respond correctly, and the condition of the grilles and casing should be checked, each speaker weighing over 60 kg and being more difficult to handle.
