KEF Q11 Meta

The Q11 Meta is the largest model in KEF's Q Series floorstanding range. It is a 3-way speaker designed for demanding hi-fi listening, combining a Uni-Q coaxial driver with three dedicated woofers, in a large cabinet suited to bigger listening rooms.

At the heart of the speaker is the 12th generation Uni-Q driver: the 19 mm dome tweeter is placed at the exact centre of the 10 cm midrange driver, forming a single point source that disperses sound more evenly throughout the room. This tweeter incorporates MAT (Metamaterial Absorption Technology), a disc-shaped structure with a labyrinthine geometry that absorbs 99% of the sound emitted from the rear of the dome, reducing distortion and refining treble reproduction. The 3-way configuration clearly separates bass, midrange and treble thanks to crossover frequencies set at 430 Hz and 2.7 kHz, for greater clarity and detail. The three 16.5 cm woofers use a hybrid aluminium structure, combined with a peripheral geometry optimised through FEA calculation, to limit unwanted resonances and maintain linear piston movement even at high excursion. The Shadow Flare system, derived from the brand's higher-end ranges, reduces sound diffraction at the cabinet edges around the tweeter. Frequency response extends from 44 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB), with a sensitivity of 89 dB (2.83 V / 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms (3.2 ohms minimum), accepting amplifiers from 15 W to 225 W.

This model is aimed at enthusiasts looking to equip a living room or a generously sized listening room, with a system capable of delivering deep bass without the need for a separate subwoofer, while maintaining precise stereo imaging thanks to Uni-Q technology.
