The KEF Q6 Meta is a centre speaker designed for use as a left/centre/right (LCR) channel within a home cinema installation or a multichannel audio system. It fits within KEF's wider Q Series range and aims to ensure tonal continuity between the different speakers of the same system.
It is built around a 3-way architecture with a 12th-generation Uni-Q coaxial driver, combining a 19 mm dome tweeter and a 10 cm diameter midrange, complemented by a waveguide incorporating MAT technology. Two 16.5 cm diameter woofers reinforce the low end. Frequency response extends from 63 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB), with crossover frequencies at 560 Hz and 2.7 kHz. What to check before buying used
On this Uni-Q coaxial model, check that the central tweeter and midrange show no dents, signs of impact or crackling at high volume, as the MAT waveguide is particularly exposed during handling. Also check both woofers: soft surrounds with no cracks or tears, and no rubbing noise from the voice coil.
