Description
The SQ1 is a floor stand dedicated to the compact speakers in the KEF Q Meta range. It allows the speaker to be positioned at a suitable listening height, without requiring furniture or an improvised support, while blending discreetly into a listening room.
Its structure is made of aluminium, a material chosen for its rigidity and lightness. This construction limits parasitic vibrations that could disturb the sound of the speaker placed on it. The stand can also be filled with an inert material, an operation that adds weight to the assembly and further improves mechanical stability, an important point for preserving the sound precision of the speakers it supports.

What to check before buying used
The finish of the aluminium deserves close inspection: scratches, dents or traces of oxidation on the cut-outs indicate intensive use or storage in a damp environment. If the stand was filled by its previous owner, it is worth checking that no filling material is leaking through a poorly closed plug or a cracked hatch. Checking the fixing inserts and bases is useful, as damaged threading compromises the stability of the speaker placed on top. Finally, a warped or misaligned stand, even slightly, can affect the base and therefore the sound precision sought.
