Description
The Kelinac KEL111MG is a bookshelf speaker designed to reproduce music with precision despite its compact format. It relies on two transducers developed specifically for this model: a woofer and a dome tweeter, paired within a 19 mm MDF cabinet.
The 13 cm woofer uses a braided carbon diaphragm, known for its rigidity, combined with a high-excursion suspension. This design aims to produce bass that is both powerful and precise despite the small size of the driver. The 25 mm dome tweeter is made entirely of magnesium and paired with a powerful neodymium motor: the lightness of this material extends the bandwidth in the treble while maintaining a sensitivity of 95 dB without the need for a horn.
The cabinet features a genuine cherry veneer finish, applied to all surfaces, including inside the speaker, in order to limit wood deformation over time. Internal damping is provided by 20 mm felt, intended to control internal resonances within the cabinet.
This speaker is aimed at music lovers seeking a small speaker capable of a refined and detailed reproduction, particularly in the treble register, for a living room or office where space must remain limited. What to check before buying used
The woofer's braided carbon diaphragm should be examined at a grazing angle for creases, dents or tears near the voice coil, and the suspension deserves a flexibility check, as hardening indicates advanced ageing. The tweeter's very thin magnesium dome deforms at the slightest contact: a fingertip press or a knock during transport is enough to mark it permanently. The cherry veneer, applied even inside the cabinet, can lift or blister following prolonged exposure to humidity, a sign worth checking along the edges and corners.
