Description
The Kelinac KSR 3 G is a compact bookshelf speaker, derived from the 111 model. It has been designed to work both as a rear effects speaker and as a main speaker, with a particular suitability for wall mounting, known as "On-wall".
The cabinet is made from 19 mm MDF, with a calvados veneer finish. Internal damping is provided by 20 mm felt, intended to limit internal cabinet resonances and preserve the neutrality of the sound reproduced.
The 13 cm diameter bass-midrange driver uses a carbon-kevlar diaphragm presented as ultra rigid, combined with a high-elongation suspension: this combination aims to deliver bass that is both powerful and precise despite the speaker's compact format. The 25 mm titanium dome tweeter, with a sensitivity of 92 dB, completes the unit; this type of dome is renowned for its lightness, rigidity and high propagation speed, favourable to precise treble reproduction.
This model is aimed at versatile use: it will suit a home cinema system where it will act as a rear effects speaker, as well as a compact stereo installation where it will serve as a main speaker. Its On-wall vocation also makes it a relevant choice for configurations where floor or shelf space is limited.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the carbon-kevlar diaphragm of the bass-midrange driver as well as its suspension, points sensitive to wear or impact on this type of transducer. The titanium dome of the tweeter also deserves a visual inspection, as a metal dome of this diameter can become deformed if struck. Finally, it is worth inspecting the condition of the calvados veneer and the internal damping felt, which may deteriorate over time or due to poor storage.
