Description
The Klipsch Heresy IV is a three-way speaker descended from a model launched in 1957, originally designed as a centre channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn in three-speaker stereo systems. It now sits within Klipsch's Heritage range, with a deliberately vintage aesthetic and a high-quality wood veneer.
This fourth generation incorporates a bi-wiring network, a titanium-diaphragm tweeter paired with a larger magnet, as well as a midrange driver whose phenolic diaphragm has been replaced with a titanium diaphragm. These developments result in an improved tonal balance and a higher output level, for a dynamic yet smooth sound with low distortion.
Thanks to its relative compactness within the Heritage range, the Heresy IV offers the greatest placement flexibility in the line-up. It is supplied with a removable angled plinth, allowing installation on the floor as well as integration into a cabinet.

What to check before buying used
The suspensions of the woofers deserve careful checking, as sagging or hardening of the surround affects performance at low frequencies. A check of the titanium diaphragms of the midrange and tweeter, ensuring they are free of any deformation or dents, along with the condition of the removable plinth, completes the inspection.
