Description
The RF-7 III is a floorstanding speaker from Klipsch's Reference range, built around a Tractrix horn and two 10-inch ceramic woofers. It follows in the line of horn-loaded, high-efficiency speakers, a technical signature specific to the brand.
The titanium compression driver paired with the moulded, compressed 90x90 rubber Tractrix horn improves high-frequency extension as well as sound imaging. The circular throat coupled with a square mouth refines the treble response, while the rubber construction provides damping that reduces harshness. The driver also features a new phase plug designed to improve the coherence of acoustic pressure at high frequencies.
The cast ceramic woofers aim for high rigidity with lightweight construction, limiting cone breakup and distortion. Each 10-inch driver is mounted on a cast aluminium frame and features a dual short-circuit ring magnet structure, designed to limit magnetic flux modulation and improve the linearity of cone movement.
