Klipsch RP-1600SW

The RP-1600SW is an active subwoofer from Klipsch's Reference Premiere range, designed to complement a hi-fi or home cinema system requiring precise and powerful bass reinforcement. It integrates its own amplifier, allowing it to operate independently without the need for an external power amplifier dedicated to low frequencies.

Its Cerametallic woofer features a redesigned driver for low frequency reproduction, paired with a built-in amplifier fitted with an analogue preamp that preserves the original signal path. The output stage runs in Class D, an architecture designed to maximise output level and detail in the low end while limiting the thermal footprint of the onboard electronics.

The driver is front-firing, allowing greater freedom of placement in the room since the unit does not need to be pointed at the floor or against a wall to function. The Aerofoil port, also located on the front, was designed to reduce air turbulence inside the enclosure, a point that directly affects the cleanliness of the low frequency output.
