Description
The Three+ is a biamplified 2.1 stereo tabletop speaker, designed by Klipsch to offer complete listening without a separate amplifier or speakers. It integrates two full-range drivers, a woofer and two passive radiators in a sealed enclosure, with connections for both a digital source and a turntable.
The frequency response of 45 Hz to 20 kHz at -3 dB and the maximum sound pressure level of 106 dB reflect coverage from bass through to treble, with a sound level capable of filling a good-sized room. The peak power of 120 watts, distributed between the two 2.25-inch full-range drivers and the 5.25-inch high-excursion woofer, supports this ability to fill a large space without distorting the signal. Connectivity includes a USB-C audio input, a preamplified phono output, an RCA line output and an optical digital input, in addition to the stated Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of up to 12 metres.
The chaining mode allows up to 10 speakers to be linked together, and the Klipsch Connect app gives access to equalisation settings, preset saving and firmware updates.
This speaker is aimed at those wanting a single stereo solution, capable of playing both a Bluetooth stream and a turntable via the phono input, in a living room or lounge where the genuine wood design and fabric grille matter as much as the sound quality.

What to check before buying used
On an active speaker of this type, it is best to test each input separately: USB-C, phono, RCA line and optical, to ensure none shows crackling or dropouts. The volume dial and touch controls should also be operated to check for crackling or intermittent contact. It is worth checking that Bluetooth 5.3 works correctly, from pairing to connection stability over the stated range, as well as the response of the two full-range drivers and the woofer at different volumes.
