Klipsch THX-8000

The Klipsch THX-8000 is an in-ceiling/in-wall speaker designed to deliver cinema sound without taking up floor space. Intended for surround systems, it fits into the ceiling or wall and visually disappears behind a flat grille, while contributing to sound distribution around the listener.

It is built around a 2-way configuration combining a 20 cm woofer with a Cerametallic diaphragm and a titanium dome tweeter mounted on a Tractrix horn, with a crossover frequency set at 2300 Hz. The frequency response extends from 80 Hz to 20 kHz (-/+ 3 dB), with a sensitivity of 91 dB /1W/1m and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. It accepts a power handling of 100 W RMS (400 W peak) and a recommended amplification of 150 W, with a sealed enclosure that affects its behaviour in the low frequencies. THX Ultra2 certification attests to compliance with performance criteria defined for home cinema systems.

This model is aimed at multichannel home cinema installations where the aim is to conceal the speakers while maintaining consistent sound reproduction across the various channels, particularly for surround positions where floor or wall space is limited.
