What to check before buying used
On this integrated amplifier, test the volume potentiometer for crackling or channel imbalance, often a sign of track oxidation. Check that the protection relays make good contact on start-up and that there is no hum on the MM phono input, which is more susceptible to interference. A check of the power supply capacitors is also recommended on a heavily used unit, as their ageing can affect the output power.
