Description

The Magnat IC 62 is an in-ceiling speaker designed for installation in a ceiling, intended to blend into the surroundings while still delivering a refined sound reproduction. It is aimed at integrated audio installations where visible aesthetics must remain minimal, without sacrificing listening quality.

The tweeter comes in the form of a dual 19 mm aluminium dome tweeter, paired with a high-power neodymium magnet. This dual-tweeter configuration, with a specific alignment between the two domes, aims to improve precision and coherence in the upper part of the sound spectrum. The woofer, meanwhile, uses a carbon-fibre membrane fitted with a phase plug, a central component that helps to better direct the sound waves emitted by the cone.

The speaker also incorporates a multiple directivity circuit, designed to adapt sound dispersion to the characteristics of the room in which it is installed. The crossover, described as high quality, is based on APOC technology, while the connection terminal is described as heavy-duty, ensuring a solid connection over time.

This model is suited to domestic installation projects where the speaker must remain invisible once fitted, for example in a living room, a lounge or a built-in multiroom space. The mounting mechanism is presented as simple, making it easy to fit into a ceiling or wall opening.

What to check before buying used

Check the condition of the carbon-fibre woofer membrane and the phase plug, which are sensitive to impact when removed from a ceiling. Check the alignment and integrity of the two aluminium tweeter domes as well as the condition of the neodymium magnet. Examine the connection terminal to rule out any play or signs of oxidation, and make sure the APOC crossover has not suffered from exposure to the humidity typical of false-ceiling installations.
