Description
The Quantum Signature is a high-end floorstanding speaker from Magnat, designed as a centrepiece for a demanding stereo or home cinema setup. Its imposing size and multi-driver construction make it a model intended to take pride of place in a listening room.
The speaker is built around a six-driver architecture housed in an MDF cabinet finished with several coats of high-gloss lacquer. Three 200 mm woofers handle bass reproduction, while two 170 mm midrange drivers cover the vocal range, an area regarded as particularly sensitive to the ear. These two midrange drivers flank the tweeter dome in a D'Appolito configuration, a symmetrical arrangement aimed at improving the coherence of sound dispersion around the listening axis.

What to check before buying used
The high-gloss lacquered finish easily shows micro-scratches and knocks: examine the cabinet from several angles under light, particularly on the edges and top. Check that all six drivers respond without unwanted noise or distortion, especially the 200 mm woofer cones, which are prone to worn suspensions after several years. Also check the alignment of the D'Appolito configuration around the tweeter, whose dome can warp or become marked through careless handling.
