The CINEMA 60DAB is an integrated audio-video amplifier from Marantz, designed to drive a complete home cinema installation. It combines 7.2-channel amplification, 8K Ultra HD compatibility and network streaming via the HEOS ecosystem, making it a system hub capable of handling both sound and picture in a home cinema room.
Output power varies according to load and measurement mode: 200 watts mono into 6 ohms at 1 kHz with 10% distortion, 140 watts stereo into 6 ohms at 1 kHz with 0.7% distortion, and 100 watts stereo into 8 ohms across the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range with just 0.08% distortion. This last figure, measured across the full bandwidth and at low distortion, gives a more accurate picture of the amplifier's real-world behaviour under demanding stereo listening.
On the video side, the unit handles 8K and 4K resolution at 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3, allowing recent sources to pass through without image degradation. It also features DTS:X, DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X decoding, plus MDAX2 compressed audio processing designed to improve the rendering of compressed streams. Connectivity includes six HDMI inputs and digital, analogue and phono inputs, as well as speaker and preamp outputs.

What to check before buying used
On this multichannel AV amplifier, test all HDMI paths (inputs and output), as a faulty port or an HDCP issue results in no picture from a single source. Also check that each amplification channel delivers clean sound, free of crackling or unexpected cut-outs, which could indicate worn capacitors or protection relays. Finally, make sure the HEOS module connects properly to the network, as some older units lose compatibility after a firmware update.
