Description
The PM-11S3 is a stereo integrated amplifier belonging to Marantz's reference range. It combines preamplification and power amplification in a single chassis, with a built-in phono stage allowing a turntable to be connected directly without an external phono preamplifier.
Its power stage operates in class AB and delivers 2 × 100 W into 8 Ω, rising to 2 × 200 W into 4 Ω, allowing it to maintain dynamic headroom when driving speakers that demand more current. The HDAM-SA3 circuitry, exclusive to Marantz, replaces certain conventional stages with discrete modules designed to limit signal coloration. The dual mono architecture separates the circuits of both channels, including their power supplies, in order to reduce interference between the left and right channels and preserve stereo separation.
The built-in phono stage is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges, allowing a turntable fitted with either type of cartridge to be connected directly without an additional preamplification stage.
